Your 2024 Garden

Do you have a link for that information? I'd like to see what they are.
Most everything should be found here. I first saw this on a YouTube channel where a member there was using two things. One of them was so strong that you should wear a very good head mask when using it.

I'll did up more later when I'm resting after I get done with morning chores. Amazon lists several.

Thank you for the link! I've bookmarked it.

I was looking specifically to see if glyphosate is allowed to be used as a desiccant for organic oats. I didn't see glyphosate on any of the lists, either as allowed or prohibited.

Google says it isn't allowed on organic products. I buy organic oats (about 2x the cost, but I'm willing to pay it) because I don't want that stuff in my food.

Yeah, I know it's everywhere. Am I dreaming that I can limit my exposure? Dunno. But I'm trying.

The gutter installers are supposed to come by later today to put on the second downspout (it was on backorder). So I decided that draining the rain barrel might make it easier to move. I had to dig a hole in order to attach a hose.

It's draining, but slowly, about 1/4 down after an hour. It would help if I could lay the hose on a down slope, but the barrel is in a low spot.

When the barrels get set up they will be on blocks

The gutter downspout was rescheduled for Monday, and then I requested this upcoming Friday. I want to be here. I also have a crawlspace "guy" coming by to give me an estimate on a moisture barrier. I had two separate "tree guys" come by to give me an estimate on removing downed trees and taking a couple smaller ones. Both were reasonable.

Oh, gardens?

Beets and Swiss chard have sprouted!

The turnips and rutabagas are getting bigger, but the carrot rows are spotty, time to replant.

I planted carrots and garlic this week. I put them in the small garden by the greenhouse. This is the area I had vole problems last spring.
No evidence of voles now. To hopefully deter them, I planted garlic around the carrots. Also covered them with netting for the rabbits and deer because this garden is not fenced. Fingers crossed!
The collards, cabbage, mustard and broccoli are growing. Butterbeans still making beans. I have dry beans I'm shelling for next year's seed and to have dry for eating this winter.
I will be picking mustard greens soon.
