Your 2025 Garden

Snow on the ground this morning. I went out to check for peas breaking ground anyway. Not yet but I saw some scat in the orchard when I was comparing how swollen the apple and pear buds are getting too what they were last week. Knowing the dogs' collars don't let them go that far I asked the brother about it. He confirmed my suspicion that the bear visited last night.

It's way too soon but I planted a cauliflower in the garden. If I cover it on really cold nights, it may make it.

Still moving slow today. Can't transplant in the garden as it is to windy to use the propane torch to cut out circles to plant the transplants in. I really didn't want to just yet. Help is coming for a couple of days on Friday that can bend down much better than I can. If not by then today's shot in the lower back will be kicked in good and I'll got at it like a woodpecker on a wormy dead tree.
Aw, c'mon. Bending over is NEVER the problem ..... it's getting back UP again that's the real issue! :D

After a trip to Lowes for coop building supplies I had to break down and take pain meds I've been avoiding today. Tomorrow will require some crawling on my knees planting tomatoes. I have some vining yellow summer squash seed that should arrive in a few days that will be planted by stakes that were use in last years tomato area. Saves pulling those stakes out of the ground. I need several T Post driven but my back is not willing at the moment. We have a lot of collard plants that are almost ready to graduate to the field.
