Hello Dear Friends,

this thread is about what we cook - I am very interested in treat and supplemental recipes from all over the world, designed for ducks.

May I start with a very simple dumplings recipe named "hemplings", and it was welcomed today by my little flock:


Ingredients (for a handful):
2x tbsp maizeflour
2x tbsp hempseed-flour (purchased in a vegan-shop)
1 egg

Much closer to wet sand in consistency than dumplings' dough, cooked in hot water, pea-size, presented in a shallow dish with water poured over it.
Pretty nourishing stuff, we need to beef up one of our new aquisition because she is miserably skinny even for a runner, luckily she has appetite.

There is a proverb for a situation when someone eats fast with good appetite: "swallows like duck the dumplings" - I really wished to see if the proverb has true fund: hemplings were a great success, they like it.
