My second batch hatched, it is a mixed color assortment of shipped eggs. I can now identify a pharaoh/wild and a tuxedo chick (thanks to my vast experience with batch number one) but I need an expert opinion on most of these!

I love this picture, the only solid black in a lot of 24. Is it a black or something else?

Half the batch looks like this, some with brown stripes some with black, pearl?

There are a couple reddish chicks, this one has a striped back.

Another reddish brown chick but no stripes on the back rather it’s a mix of red and black feathers.

This guy is solid red on the back.

This is my mutant/spastic solid yellow (two in the batch) chick, he isn’t quite right/might not make it. English white?

Pharaoh/wild/brown? There are several similar, one with some red on the face, some brown, some black.

Any ideas are most welcome, thanks!

The first one is Tibetan.
The second one could be several different types. I'm guessing one of the fee types, possibly pansy fee, calico fee or something like it.
The third is a rosetta, possibly a rosetta tux.
The fourth is another Tibetan. You can tell by the dark toes/feet.
The fifth is another rosetta.
The sixth could be a few types, but I suspect that it will be silver.
The last one looks like a pharaoh, but it could develop into other colours as well.

Here are some day old calico fee (one roux calico fee, with the caramel markings vs black). They don't tend to have the darker face like #2, so possibly pansy fee maybe?

Is there a good resource on quail color genetics? I can’t currently tell a fee from a hole in the ground!

Just found this website that does a great job of breaking down quail color variations in plain English. Not many chick pictures so I’ll have to wait until they grow up.
