No words can describe the joy hotdogs bring my flock

Short and sweet. Hotdogs are without a doubt my chickens favorite food to eat and fight over. Is this a suitable "treat" to give them a couple times a week

it depends what they're made of. Hotdogs come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and most are UPFs. Plain meat or fish would probably be better. Try giving them a tin of sardines.

salt is the most concern. too much salt is bad for chickens.

they are omnivores, so hotdogs fall under that umbrella.

A few times a week is a bit much, but it's fine occasionally, they certainly aren't healthy, but a bit every now and then isn't problematic

I just fed mine a whole steak yesterday as will always give random protein that is otherwise going to go bad. Considering how much fat and salt is in hot dogs, I'd give rare occasion, at the most once / month, definitely not once/ week. You're right though, they do love a treat like that! I toss blackberries and cherry tomatoes from my garden to them and they go just as crazy though.......
