Hello 👋
I have a slow developing chick who is 5 weeks old (but she's started to catch up now). I had a look at her skin and I am very confused. Her comb is single, and white. Her wings have black skin, her neck has white skin. How is this possible?

Also any breed guesses are appreciated, came from a "mixed bantam" flock.

These pics are from a few days ago. Her feathers have just started coming in now so I'll take some updated ones soon.

Black to white skin breeding can cause what I call "Marbling," which is the patchy, black, & white skin. One of the Silkies of my F2 Giant Silkie back cross, had white skin with black patches.

I'm not sure, but I think it's due to them being split for fibromelanosis, or Fm/fm+.

Due to the black skin, Silkie cross is most likely, unsure of the other possible breeds could be in her mix though.

Where are you seening black and white skin? Just looks like a normal chick
When I move her feathers to see her skin undeneath (she's not fully fethered so when she stretches I can see her skin). Her wings and part of her back are black, but her neck and the other part of her back are white. Her feet are black, her comb is white.
