A bit off topic, but the delivery for my christmas gift from my son finally arrived .
He told me, that it was a foreign country order and delivery was anounced much earlier 🙈 ...
... I am so happy with it and so proud of my son for the idea ... so I need to share it:
:wee
It is a metal poster...
Ahhh,... very good to know. This makes sence.
So I got a Scarlet hen. She is a crossing between a Silver Tibetan and a Roux. Now I know the genetic context 😃
Thanks a lot 👍👍
Oh so beautyful birds 😍
Yes, they have the Fee gene, I know it. I got 100% Falb Fees crossing them with a Pharao roo.
I thought this is the Dilute, in Roux Dilute 🤣😉
So Egyptians are Roux. Cool
that this is cleared now 😁
I still cannot point out the "Egyptians".
Are these Roux Dilute or light Pharaos or anything else.
We have a color mutation, coming from the Netherlands the last years, we call (translated) Brown-Wildpattern. Are these Egyptians? Or how would these be called in the US?
Ok, final summary, 'bator is offline:
110 setup (all HG)
24 clear
7 early quitter
79 in lock-down
68 hatched
11 late quitter
Considering the early quitter within, it is a hatch rate of 79% :jumpy
Considering all quitters in, fertilisation rate was 78%
All colors expected are appearing...
So till now, from the 79 eggs in lock-down, 67 have hatched yet (day 20 just starts now).
Big Popcorn was from day 17.5 till 18.5 with 62 hatched. Then from day 18.5 till 19.5 another 5 hatched.
This morning, before work, I heard a silent peeping, but saw no pipping. Only few hopes.
Tonight...
Lock down today ... from the 110 eggs setup, 79 have gone to lock down. 24 were not fertile (unfortunately all the 8 CE, the new roo isn't active yet) and 7 quitters.
Excited ... as always :wee
Here, we divide them into 3 lines. Light, medium and heavy line. But they are floating.
Originally the light line, most related to the origin of the Coturnix Coturnix, had around 120g. They were used for egg production, as they layed very much (16h cycle) and ate only few.
Rarly found nowadays...
Homozygous are pure genes, having two same gene alleles of a characteristic. Heterozygous just have one part of it.
Recessive characteristics need both parts in a gene to show it. Otherwise it will not show.
Dominat characteristics just need one part in the gene and overlay the different other...
Happy new year to all 🎊🎉🍾🥂
