Yep, love those pics and projects people share. Gives me inspiration to try to new things.

I was thinking 2 feet would plenty tall for a fence to keep out our small cottontails. However, like you, I too have a deer problem. The deer found my bean plants in my 16 inch high raised beds. At first, considered it might be more rabbits, but upon closer inspection the plants were eaten from the top down. They left all my other plants, only ate the beans. Maybe they don't like kale, lettuce, onions, or peppers?

Might have to put deer netting over the beans next year. Don't want to spend a lot of money on a deer fence if I can get by without one. A friend of mine had to install a 7 foot fence to keep the deer out of his orchard. Unfortunately, the deer had no problem jumping the 7 foot fence. So, he had to add about 2 feet of additional fencing angled out, making it look like a prison yard. But it now keeps the deer out.

what about dog? no animal would come near.

:bow Nicely done. That first pallet coop looks like it was a lot of work. Also, I think you must get better pallet wood than what I find. Good for you.

Is the second coop in progress a metal shed conversion? I have been suggesting that if I had to do it all over again, I might do a metal shed conversion because if I ever stop having chickens, I would then still have a shed for the lawn mowers and such. As much as I love my chicken coop, it will only ever be a chicken coop and I don't expect it to have any life if I don't have chickens some day.

Recently, I have been considering a pallet wood shed, but the concept would be the same as if I had a metal shed. I'm thinking a dirt floor so I can drive in the lawn mowers, but that might be a problem with chickens and predators digging into the coop.

Not quite what I have in mind, but thought the pictures were interesting. A garden fence with plants growing in the fence! Might be just the idea somebody will love to try.
Actually I love the idea!!! Plant your garden inside and plants for the rabbits/wildlife outside in the pallets! (If only it would work that way lol...doubtful they wouldn't find a way into the garden)

But, I also love it for the fact that I could put this around my eventual goats or even my chickens and plant stuff for them to eat on inside the pallets around their area. But, like you mentioned earlier...I enjoy watching my animals and seeing them so if I were to use this idea, any pallet fence idea (aside from the one i have for my garden, I'll show yall those pallets later) I would only do a partial pallet fence and it would only be simply for this adorable idea lol.

I think pallet fences would be super sturdy...but I enjoy my animal TV too much!

Me, too. I like to see the animals I am raising. A pallet fence would make more sense to me in a garden. I don't sit and watch my garden grow.

Having said that, I think a pallet fence might be a good solution for some people.
