I was seriously wondering the same thing.
Last year was terrible for ticks around me - they were dropping out of trees onto my head when I was sitting in the driveway.
I spray my shoes, socks, pants etc with DEET - but dropping out of the sky was really the last straw.

Google doesn't think it is a good idea. Lots of bad side effects listed.

I know people that put the flea and tick collars around their ankles. Don't know if it works. I use permethrin spray on my clothes and shoes
