I have 12 production red hens and 1 production red rooster. All are almost 7months old. I have been getting 6 to 8 eggs a day for about 3 weeks now. Why are the eggs small? I understood that the production red lays a lage to very large egg. How long does it take for the chicken to stop laying small and start laying big? Thanks for any help

When they first start laying, the eggs are fairly small to med in size.
After they're about a year old, the eggs will begin to get bigger and then you'll get a HUGE egg on occasion.
Some of the eggs will be so huge that you'll wonder if your hen had a late-night rendezvous with an ostrich!
Enjoy your eggs.
Small/Big . . . they all taste the same!
