Hi everyone, Okay so I bought two little Bantum Duccles from a breeder, turns out I got one rooster and one hen (of which I love dearly). Anyway, they are inseparable. They follow each other everywhere!!!! They cry and panic when they are seperated, they have dirt baths, groom each other...

    Ruffled feathers please help

Hi all, First time roo mum. I’ve noticed my 12 week old roo has rugged feathers compared to my hen. He’s eating and drinking like normal and no sign of mites. They are still both on the starter feed for another week and he gets treats such as a porridge with meal worms, bran and polenta 🤣. They...

    Pullet and cockerel fighting?

Hi I have one cockerel and one pullet. They absolutely adore each other and will often have “dust baths” together they sleep so close to each other and now are about 6 weeks old. They seem to go crazy every so often they don’t hurt each other but they chase one another around. It’s kinda 50/50...

6 week old chicks won’t leave me alone!

Hi there I have two chicks about 5-6 weeks old. Every time I leave their site they just cry until they forget. Sometimes if they are distracted and I disappear they don’t seem to scream. I’m getting concerned because soon they will be put outside and I don’t want my neighbours to complain...

What do we think? They are about 5 weeks old now. The white one doesn’t have a tail but the grey one does. Are we set on the white being a rooster?

4 week old Duccle Chicks - please help!

Oh no :( what do I do if it’s a rooster. I can’t seperate them and the laws in my area are clear on no roosters. I’m so so sad!!! I think it’s pretty much confirmed he’s a rooster as he’s making the “crow” face with the beak opening but no sound coming out so far. Fingers crossed that he’s quiet...

Chicks scream when I leave their site

Hi Thanks for that, I think the problem is that they were raised by their mum until 3 weeks old. We only got them a week ago because the owner couldn’t care for them so we took them in. I’ll try the Greek yogurt and tv - thanks for the tip!

Chicks scream when I leave their site

Hi, my chicks are 4 weeks now and they are so happy but when I leave the house they just scream for about 10min before they just settle themselves. I think that because of this stress they poop a bit of diarrhea when I’m gone because when I’m with them their poos are healthy. The rest of the...
