a He or a She? Rhode Island Red

I have 6 RIR's and they are all girls. The first one is going to lay soon. Both girls, and very pretty.

2 of my girls have the lighter comb too. I think they are less mature is all.

Yep girls. If you got them last spring.... not this past spring, the larger comb one is probally a better layer

Yup, both girls... if you just look at the head shot of the first one, it looks roo-ish, but when you see it with her very hen-ish body, it's definitely a hen.

I didn't post the original question, but this sure is informative to me. I would've guessed a rooster, but this is my first year with RIRs. When does a rooster start crowing?
