So I got prairie bluebell egger chicks they are mostly yellow, does that mean they will be white? Or will I have a shot at having colorful chickens? Thank you. New to the breed

The chicks that are yellow will likely be mostly white.

My only experience with a Prairie Bluebell was a chick that was also yellow. She feathered out almost completely white but has some pretty caramel colored feathers on her chest and head.

My yellow PBE with a orange V on her head turned out to be mostly white with some minor mottling. How is yours developing?

They're such unique birds! My kids named this one "cupcake" but in my head with the caramel head/chest, she reminds me in a toasted marshmallow

Here's my 5 month old pair of Bluebells. The hen was a yellow chick with 1 black spot on her head, and soon turned lighter....she is now all white/maybe a very faint lavender with some speckles mixed in and has never lost her little dot on her head. And the rooster was a dark chipmunk chick
