Ingredients:


1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. oil
2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. almond flavoring (optional)
5 c. flour

Cooking Instructions


Cream butter, oil, sugar, and eggs. Add salt, vanilla, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Mix well. Slowly add flour. Roll into balls and lightly smash down tops with a fork dipped in sugar to make a square pattern on top of cookie. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes, or until edges start to turn light brown.
