We've used it for years and am very happy with it keeping our large chicken waterers clean from slime and algae. It only takes a small amount so a bottle lasts a long time.
Great prevention for mites, ants, and pretty much every bug
Pros: Keeps our coop mite-free for many years.
Cons: If using outdoors, need to redo it every time it rains.
I've used it for over 20 years in our two macaw parrot cages to keep fruit flies and pantry moths at bay. Since we got chickens 8 years ago, we've used it religiously every month. I use an old parmesan cheese container as a sprinkler and do the floor and nest boxes.
When we get ants a couple of times a year in the summer, I go around the house with it, and after a day, no more ants.
Cons: Hated to spend so much on a chicken coop, but we needed more ventilation and this was the answer.
Easy to install. Directions are a bit difficult at first but we caught on. It has a phone app but we pretty much don't change the settings too often. It definitely helps keep the coop cooler in the summer and the humidity down year-round.
Unless I missed it, Amazon does not have a weight for this fan. Using a converted vinyl shed and need to consider weight when I mount things to the walls. Any idea?
I started using this with shipped-in chicks or chicks that were hatched elsewhere and brought here. It was good and they liked it.
I later switched to Kalbach's version as this was out of stock at both Walmart and TSC.
I don't use medicated with chicks I hatch but always do if they are imported here whichever way for their first couple of weeks. I switch to reg when I can start getting them outside.
