Do chickens ever lay two eggs per day?

I didn't think this was possible either but today my white legorn laid 2 eggs! I know it's her because she is the only hen I have that lays white eggs!

    Tree Limb Roost

Thanks Dan! Yeah they love it. I'm getting ready to combine my two small flocks in a few weeks so we built this roost. Its much bigger than the other one I'm using in the other coop. The one I made for that coop was made out of a wooden ladder my dad and I took apart and combined with longer...

I have a TON of raccoons, opossums and skunks in my area....I trapped raccoons the whole summer. I bought the Interplex Solar Nite Eyes (4 of them) and I haven't seen any evidence that ANYTHING has tried to get in. I'd buy these again in a heartbeat. You can check out my blog if you're...

    Plastic Easter Eggs Worked!

Just thought I'd post an FYI....I could only find 1 golf ball to put in the nest box....but I had a bunch of those plastic Easter eggs...so I put a small rock inside each of them and put them in the nest boxes. One of my hens JUST started laying eggs 2 days ago...I didn't think this...

Help! Heated Metal base waterer and extension cord??

I have electricity in my coop, but the heated waterer base I just bought online doesn't have a very long cord. It says not to use an extension cord....is there a reason why I shouldn't? Otherwise I'm going to have to return it because its not long enough.

Brooder Box during a Power Outage!

Just thought I'd post a quick FYI. I'm in Central Ohio and lost power after the big storm recently. The problem I had was that I had 12, 4 day old baby chicks to try and keep at 95 degrees without a brooder light during the night. The daytime wasn't a problem since its been in the 90's for...
