I'm Sick of Brinsea- What's your favorite automatic Incubator ?

Thanks, I will check that out. I find the Ecoglow works well but I have had 2 fall apart one right out of the box. It does not get very hot but I have never had a problem with the temp. I do use a supplemental hear light if the room is below 50 degrees, though.

I'm Sick of Brinsea- What's your favorite automatic Incubator ?

Not so great customer service in my opinion. If the unit breaks before the warranty is up I have had no luck getting it replaced. The product itself is very good.

Giving new chicks to a broody hen

I have never given chicks to a broody before but I have many friends that have and it seems to mostly work. Some say to slip them under at night in the dark. Last summer ne neighbor's hen had been broody a few days and I had 3 day old keets. Neighbor showed the chicks to the broody and the...

    Red Sex Linked Hen

Thank you for pointing out FOOD AND WATER is crucial. I have edited my post. I actually did read that and so "Followed the Directions" But yes its Horrible advice to pass on and not at all healthy to the bird. Luckily, I only did it 1x for a few hours with no ill effects. Thanks for the...

Would like to get a small incubator

I started with a $99 foam incubator from Agway. I had to turn the eggs myself and the humidity was hard to regulate but i got to be a pretty good hatcher with it. Warning I had to tweek it alot and I would often wake up in the middle of the night to see if it was working ok. I finally moved up...

    Red Sex Linked Hen

How long has she been broody? If its just a day or two she may come out of it. Collect the eggs as often as you can. Though a very broody hen will not care if there is anything to set. when I have a broody I take her out of the nest box whenever I can and put her in a different spot to...
