I breed a pure breed blue Orpington rooster with a pure breed chocolate Orpington hen? Would I get both blue and chocolate chicks? Or would I get a different color all together?
Started from eggs now the flock is coming together nicely. It's been a pleasure to work with these magnificent birds. I haven't found my roosters to be aggressive. And one of my hens even went broody and hatched 4 little chicks. It's been a wild ride but a great experience!!
Took down the old run and put up premier one run to keep stray dogs out just incase. Oh on another note 5 day old peachicks doing great as well good spring so far!!
Got four eggs shipped from a friend in Nebraska to North Carolina. And I'm happy to say 100 percent hatch rate. First time ever hatching peachicks. There India blue.
Cost some cash but after the latest dog attack on my flock from a neighbors pit bull. I feel like I have no choice. I put electric fence wire around my entire yard attached to tpost. Then premier one fencing around the whole coop and made a nice run with it. I hope I'm safe now.
Developing. I just candled 4 India blue peacock eggs that have been nine days in the bator. They were shipped from a friend in Nebraska to NC. And there all four developing. I was hoping for one or two but all four I'm so happy!!

So I have a broody orust hen who's been sitting on eggs for almost three weeks. The other hens lay in the corner of the coop on a nice bed of straw. I each mourning collect the eggs that's the broody hen is not sitting on to put in an egg carton to hatch or sell or even eat. Well three days ago...
I have a chicken (mutt) she's probably 4 months old. She has an impacted crop on her right side. I've done everything gave her water to moisten it along with a massage for 20 min. She never spit anything up. I even tried a little olive oil and massaged again nothing. She's free ranging with the...
