Anyone near Whitmore Lake/Ann Arbor have jubilee orpingtons? I'm looking to add to ours and we were planning on hatching eggs, but our rooster isn't doing his job.
In case anyone is interested I am rehoming a couple of roosters. One is a 1.5 year old Icelandic. He is a great rooster and I hate to see him go but I am going to start breeding different lines and he is therefore extra. He is gentle on the hens, and respectful of people, my little kids are...
Thanks. The soffit and fascia are part of the mostly finished. It is yet to be done when I can find some more time. I like the smartside, not too badly priced and easy to work with.
Chris, I like it. I need to make a few more feeders like that and strap them to the brooder.
Here is what will be their first outside cage.
It's 12' long and 3' high and wide. I plan to enclose a 3'x4' section and leave the rest as a run. It will be used as a transition for young birds, and...

Just curious, I am thinking of hatching some eggs and was wondering if anyone had Orpington hatchlings eggs within reasonable distance to Whitmore Lake? Thanks.
I let them out about an hour and a half before sundown tonight. They stayed close to the coop, and put themselves away before it got dark. Couldn't ask for much more than that.
We have eight Amberlinks who are about 4.5 months old who we have had for a couple weeks. We just added a 6 month old barred rock today. The Amberlinks are obviously smaller and I wouldn't mind giving them some more space so I may start them outside the coop for a few hours tomorrow. Thanks.
