Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

I'll guess Old English Game Bantam. I'm not good at identifying chicks...they have to be older for me to tell (and even then I don't think I'm good) CG

Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

I live probably an hour to 1 1/2 hours away and I haven't been to Cackle. Part of me would like to, part of me thinks that's dangerous to my pocketbook. LOL CG

I would document everything (feed, water & temperature of brooder, etc.) and if anymore die, call Monday morning. Right now, you are still in the 40 chick range.

Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

This is going around facebook: Cackle says: 50% off of lots of chickens and ducks for this Fri and Sat. only at Cackle Hatchery in Lebanon, Missouri. The bad weather prevents them going to their new homes. Pick up only, no phone calls, just go Anyone luckily enough to be in driving distance...

Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

I just had an email newsletter this week from Cackle and there was nothing mentioned about closing. I do remember something about their fall celebration which is in October or November. Maybe the other person thought & mixed up this information. CG

The quote button didn't quote so here goes: Snuvy, if you invite chickens to your land, you WILL see coons someday. Do what you can to protect your pet chickens from coon, possum, dog, hawk, etc. Must be nice to not have to worry about extreme cold (says the girl that aches in winter)...

Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

Normally I'd say yes but TSC had a tub of "Assorted Bantams" that I don't believe really are bantams because they were just as big as the "Assorted Pullets" bin. CG

Love it. Where do you have the heat lamp (or other heat source)? Looks like something I need to build. CG

Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

Supposedly the P.O. wants to charge more for shipping chicks but they are not saying they are going to do a better job than they currently are doing. So sorry this happened to you. Hope you hear from Cackle soon. I've heard mostly good things about Cackle. CG

Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

Don't tell me that that's one of those little 20 in 1 game tables (foose ball, ping pong, chess, checkers, pool, etc.)? I just saw one in a dumpster across the street (I did snag the foose ball handles to put on our little table). Looks great by the way. CG

Too bad you don't live closer...I'd take your EE's in a snap. I've been looking for more EE's but not having success and since I want to keep my flock under 15, I don't want to be overrun by ordering. If the weather was nicer, I'd take a little drive to Cackle and see if I couldn't pick up...
