I think they look a lot better. Both have fine red feathers.

I have some TAX type photos to edit and maybe some worth posting. The new new Easter Egger Roos have been officially named Simon for the single combed and Shuster for the pea combed one. That was my wife's doing. I also was able to get a few images of the wayward Cornish in the log pile. :)

I've never seen a rooster with more class than Henry

I went out expecting the Cornish girls to be playing on the logpile. No such luck. They read my mind. I had to come back in within 20 minutes for dry clothes. They must still be in the shade of the woods.

I'm going out with the camera and see if I can catch a few kids doing what they do best this time of day.

No that is my only holdout for any hope.

I've all but given up on finding a most loved pullet. This is the 4th day she has been missing. She has roosted on the porch for months with no problems. She had a wart on a toe and that was treated and all was well. She always greeted me when I would venture out expecting some conversation. I...

Temperature is 77° and rising fast. I better get chores done fast and back into my coop. I hear 20 or more roosters calling up the sun now or are they trying to sweet talk the pullets?

I was ahead of them tonight. Tonight it was a White Jersey Giant 6 month old rooster that got his fat rear in big trouble. He wandered down to the CornishxRock hens coop and slipped in when I went in to fill the water fountain for the night and tried to hitch a ride on the back of an 18 lb or so...

It's time to go water down the log pile again.

I'll have to plant some red cabbage with some savoy cabbage this fall.

I don't have a clue as to what a few of mine find to eat when they are out and out of sight. Some have normal firm poop, some thick caramel, some hot fudge, some green goo. None appear sick from anything so I don't worry to much. When fall comes with temps that will allow me to keep them in a...

I don't bother looking for a Cornwall pullet in the log pile now at closing time. I just spray it down and run her out and back to the coop she goes. If I don't move those logs out she and other will start nests in them. Have a friend with a backhoe that I should hear from soon about moving them...

They know where the goodies are stored. Mine do and they know the difference of a bag of layer crumbles and a bag of cracked corn scratch feed.

It's hot here and beginning to get dry again. The new boys have joined in ok. no serious fighting at all now. The one new boy that show his muscles simmered down when he realized he was so out numbered. He stays rather close to headquarters. He may still be sizing up the others and waiting to...

All the coops are locked down. As usual I watered the log pile to get the misfit Cornish girls to go in their coop. Tonight they had convinced 3 additional Jersey Giant girls to join them in the log pile which got them wet as well. As hot as it is they had dried down by the time they hit the...

I have a small feeder suspended from the ceiling where they have access to it as needed. Not forced on them by mixing in their layer ration.

Both new boys are out and about on their own. Wish I could have quarantined them for a month but it was not possible this time. A quarantine motel is on the drawing board to build soon. Both are eating and drinking and the fighting has mostly subdued to a level that can be common where the boys...

It didn't take to many gallons of water to chase the Dark Cornish Girls out of the log pile. I think I should install a sprinkler on top of the log pile and turn it on every day about an hour and a half before dark. I got them all into the right coop at least. For another night or two they will...
