Glad you're back home safe and everything's OK, hopefully you can keep Tintin for a bit so he can pass on his genes

If no eggs are trying to pip, or are viable, I'd remove the eggs. If mum doesn't budge after a few hours, I'd place her and the chick out of the nest, and close access to it

Honestly, I don't know. I've only had one broody. Cruella is SUPER scared of me. Like she doesn't like me at all. While she was broody however, she would even let me hand feed her and her chicks. She'd peck me from time to time, but that's just her being a good mother. Her chicks turned out just...

My bantams fly really well too, but it's not always the smartest thing to do. Let's not forget, cats are built to leap. A chicken must think what the smartest thing to do in each situation is

I'd bet on the cat. We have one running around as well. I don't like having him around. The LF's don't care about him at all. I've even seen the brahma dust bathing while the cat is sitting right next to them. The bantams...is another story. Especially the serama, they HATE him. He has tried to...

Don't. It won't serve you any good right now. We can protect our birds to the best of our abilities, worry about keeping them healthy while they're alive, but when they have passed it doesn't help them nor us to feel bad for what we didn't do. We just have to focus on what we can do to prevent...

Could they have been scared by a predator? Young birds are pretty iffy with their roosting spots, but the old birds don't change as easily
