We've had Muscovies for about 6yrs and they've never flown(I think their weight:thrust ratio is off the chart now)...I wish they would though...We had a pair of mixed muscovies that flew and it was so beautiful to see! These guys are 15+lbs, I'd love to see them airborne!

This is our special needs DOUBLE crested Pekin "Daffy"...She has a balance issue and she can't stand since birth....We just couldn't, after looking in those eyes, cull her...So, we decided we'd just do what we have to...Built slings and every contraption imaginable to find some way to keep her...

Happens frequently here...Drake chases duck for sex, duck trips over rake or hole dog dug and wallah, limping duck for a few days...If it's a duck, and she'll let us, we'll bring in house to keep drakes from trying to chase her down and make her run on bad leg...Heck, a couple times a year I...

Just keep monitoring it, we have 2 thermometer/humidity detectors in each of 5 bators...Those things will happen, sometimes for a reason, sometimes, not LOL If it happens, no problem just opening lid wide open and air out for a couple of seconds, like momma getting up to eat or drink...It's natural!

We buy 5lbs of chicken breasts a week and still can't fathom raising birds to eat...We know they don't grow in packages, we just can't look it in the eye and eat it...
