I wonder if working on lighting might help. The blue colored lights seem to keep sleep from kicking in. Also, now phone time an hour before bedtime. Do you get up at the same time no matter what time you go to sleep?
Sleep issues are a real problem in this day and age
I was awake a bit at 2am too but I did not go down and cook. When that happens, I do some breathing meditation like stuff. It fools my sleep tracker into thinking I am asleep...maybe I was?
Last weekend I made Lemon ginger bread-- it is a sourdough recipe sweetened with honey.
I bet it would be very good with cream cheese and marmalade! I will try some in the morning
