Hi all! So a random white leghorn showed up at my house. I have red and black sex link hens. I decided to hatch a few. I jave 6 Lil yellow fluff balls. Any one had this mix? Any photos?
I have an EE rooster from Meyer hatchery and it's supposed to breed true when bred with one of their EE hens.
I also have some Ameraucana hens and I want to know what the chances are that the resulting hens from the "Ameraucana X EE" cross will lay eggs that are not brown or white.
I...
So many times breeds are made for egg color or feathers, not so much any more for temperament and friendliness.
I know people are exhausted by their orphingtons being bullied. But birds that kids and teens can easily handle would be nicer than colorful 🪶 🪶 feathers that show well.
A chicken...
So my girls are starting to lay and I'm hoping to start a breeding project to learn more about genetics. Here's what I have to work with:
Easter Egger
Sapphire Olive Egger (Hens only)
Amberlink (Hens only)
Prairie Bluebell Egger (Hens only)
Australorp
Maran
Orpington
Wyandotte
Brahma (Hens Only)...
So I have two Cornish X pullets that have been squatting for 1-2 months now. They haven't laid but my Barred Rock rooster has successfully bred with them many times. I'm wondering if anyone has successfully bred Cornish X because I've read they have bad hatch rates.
Hi! So, I got a new chicken today. The people I purchased her from knows she's mixed, but they're not 100% sure what she's mixed with. She has a rose comb but she's solid white. The folks I got her from said they have Wyandottes, Leghorns, Delawares an Australorp and a few other breeds. Everyone...
I wrote Hoover’s asking about the California Tans from TSC since there is such limited info about them! This was their response..... a cross between a White Leghorn and a Production Red.
This chicks is a cross between a svart hona rooster, and either a is a brown, barred rock, or whayndott hen, all light skinned hens. This is the chick. Her skin doesn't look black in some pics but really is.
Hi! I am new to this site! I was wondering what kind of babies an Easter Egger Frizzle rooster and a Polish hen make?
The hen is golden laced, she is small, and the EE is splash colour I think. He is a big boy. What do you think would be the colour, would they have a crest? Would they lay...
I think I originally posted this in the wrong spot (under "raising chicks"). Sorry about that. Maybe here it will get more traffic. :-)
Rooster is Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, but the hens were a mix of Rhode Island Reds/Blues, different varieties of Wyandottes, White Leghorn, Welsummers...
I drew this a while back, I was wanting to draw something that some...meaning to it.
So I combined my Christian values with my love for Legend of Zelda and made this.
(One of my best pieces!)
What would a French Black Copper Marans Rooster and a Starlight Green Egger Hen cross look like?
What would egg Color look like? Any pictures of the cross?
Like in previous post I am again having problems sexing Sussex chickens, I recently hatched 7 out of 10 eggs. These chicks are now 4-5 weeks old and are a cross between Light Sussex and a ISA Brown and Black hen. I do not know specifically who the mother is of which chick as they all look pretty...
Got 2 mystery eggs in a batch of Cochin eggs. They are all black like Cemanis and clearly have at least one fibromelanistic gene (one has a tiny bit of red around her neck), but they both have impressive crests! No substantial comb under all that poof, at least that I can feel. Their size and...
I was wondering if this could actually happen. My young rooster feels my guinea hen is ready to breed and has proceeded to try to mount her multiple times now but he’s so small compared to her that I have a feeling it will never be successful. I tried looking online to see if anyone has had such...
Mr. T is a sweet feather leg with gorgeous color - he was an adoption that I gave to my MIL after her old roo passed... put him together today with our wyandottes and just wondering what the babies would be crossed with?
