Hello! I have a silkie hen that has been broody over a clutch for just over a week now. I'm checking every day to make sure no one has hatched(I know hatch date is 21-26 days but I'm making sure 😂), but this leads me to my question; when they do hatch, is it better to take them out into a...
Hi everyone!
My mallard duck has been broody for 28 days and yesterday into last night she seems to be done being broody and abandoned the eggs. It got down to about 50°f last night. Would that be too cold to try to salvage the eggs and attempt to hatch them in the incubator?
Thank you

Hello, I’ve been looking to add new birds to my flock. I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this. Does anyone know of any websites that have goose eggs or turkey eggs? Is anyone willing to sell any that will ship to Washington USA? Anyone know if this website is reliable...
Does anyone have a source for Cornish Cross hatching eggs? We’ve been providing eggs to our local school to hatch and then raising them for meat. We’ve bought from Hoover Hatchery in the past but they aren’t able to supply them this year.
Hi friends!
I am new to WTBs and I'd love to offer hatching eggs as well as chicks from my flock. I'm wondering what to look for in my birds/eggs/roosters to produce the best offspring. I have two roosters (one gray, and one multicolored) and 6 hens. Since they are all so very colorful, I don't...

Looking for full sized NN Turken eggs to ship to Maryland. A diversity of plumage color is great but black or blue would get me off to a good start. If you're interested in a swap I have lots of heritage/rare chickens, ducks, turkey's, and geese. Thanks!
Hello Backyardchickens! I've been gone for a while because I moved and had to sell all my birds until we settled in and felt comfortable to have birds again. So I'm wanting to start back up by hatching any birds we choose to add to our farm!

So I am going to try to hatch eggs for the first time this year. I have a Blue Jersey Giant roo and 6 hens-red orpington, black laced red wyandotte, EE, and three red stars. I was curious if anyone has mixed these breeds with a BJG roo.
Also any tips for incubating eggs for the first...
