Looking for paint silkies! (Any colour)

I'm looking for paint silkie chicks/eggs! Any gender, but pullets are preferred. I live out of America, so it'd be preferred if it's someone who also does, or ships well. It doesn't have to be someone here, but if you know breeders who can, please tell me. Thank you! :p

Are my silkie's eggs too dark for a silkie?

Silkie eggs are supposed to be white or cream according to the standard of perfection. My growout pullets just started laying and the eggs look a bit too dark for a silkie to me. What do we think? Now I'm not sure if the girls laying these are my own bred girls or the ones I bought as hatching...

Are silkie eggs to sensitive to candle?

Good Morning, I’m incubating for the first time with silkie eggs. Should I candle them? I’ve heard they’re tough to incubate and some people don’t candle. However, I’m worried about bacteria and removal of bad eggs. Insight is much appreciated! 🐣 Thank yo8, Tracey

    Enlarged air sac

Okay, so I am on day 22 of a hatch that has had a lot of hiccups (including a couple accidental cool downs) so I was already expecting them to be delayed IF they hatched at all. Right now there are no pips but when I stick a flashlight in the incubator to check them they’re still moving and all...

    Problem hatch

I have had a plethora of hiccups with this batch of silkie eggs. First, my broody hen abandoned them...twice! I found them cool to the touch the time I decided to bring them inside and incubate them. Then, they got unplugged on accident...twice! The first was overnight and the second was for an...

    Help with Silkie Egg

Hi there, my second batch of eggs have all but hatched, except for one, a silkie egg. The first few (French black marans and barred rocks) hatched in succession in the wee hours of the 20th day.... 19.5/20th day. They pipped and zipped without any problems. I woke up to sweet little babies. Now...

Silkie egg due to hatch today

I got an incubator for Christmas and wanted to do a trial run before spring to make sure I have it all figured out. Since my rooster is a silkie I decided it would be best to use my silkie eggs to try and hatch. I only put 1 egg in since I have several other chicks from a friend's incubator. I...

Development of Silkie Eggs - HELP!

So I recently acquired some silkie eggs, the owner was unsure of how long they had been laid. Out of the dozen, 4 have obviously started developing [there are veins and dark areas and possibly an eye call] (I can post pictures tonight, as my house is bright!) and I'm wondering if there is any...

Hi, I am new to silkie eggs this egg is at day 22 and I just noticed a pin sized hole like microscopic level. I do not know if this was there before and if it is a attempt on a pip or not. How small can they be? My humidity has been steady at 65-70 since day 18 and heat is 99-100. I'm not for...

Black Silkie Combs and other silkie standards for newbies

I've got some Silkie/satin/frizzle eggs in my incubator right now from a well known breeder. She has beautiful birds! I'd like to show them with my 4-H'er. I don't know too much about the breeding standard, but the one major flaw that I've noticed in her pics are some red/pink combs. I was...

    Silkies for Meat or What?

A local breeder of silkies is holding off hatching a batch of fertilized eggs, and has offered some to me to put under my emo Asia Black, Xena. As we aren't set up to keep silkies as pets (DH thinks they are *butt ugly*), we have 2-3 possibilities: 1. Sell the chicks once they hatch to others...
