15th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along

I plan to hatch some this year, but I have to sit and plot around getting particular chicks from the store.
I'm hoping my girls pick up laying soon, I have particular crosses I want to do.
Edit to add: I ended up with 4 hens from the 2023 Easter hatchalong. :)
Welcome!

Easter's pretty early this year, so I don't honestly know if I will be able to participate; it all depends on when my Cochins start laying again and whether they're actually breeding in early March or not. However, I am hoping to participate again this year. :fl
:fl Perhaps some passive-aggressive posters on their coop walls will help. :p

In March I will put my Self Blue Ameraucana eggs in the Incubator. So I will do that March 9th just in time for Easter.

I am also working with a breeder on getting Celedon Coturnix Quail. I hopefully will be able to set those March 12. Now if I can just convince my husband to get me a second incubator for my birthday...
Welcome and good luck with the second incubator. :fl

Haha, nah, they're Cochin bantams, stubborn little spitfires. Knowing how they are, if I did do something like that, they'd withdraw egg laying even longer just to spite me!! 🤭

It's that time again! Every year, many members from all over the world come together to set eggs to hatch on the exact same day, March 30th, 2024 - the day BEFORE Easter. As a group last year, we had 2443 eggs set for hatching! If you are new to hatching, this is a great way to get a lot of help, tips, and advice. Exciting, but alas will not be taking part this time around. I'm delaying my egg orders another month or so due to shipping issues/delays in Houston.

I will most likely be setting as long as the girls cooperate. It would be blue scale quail, chicken and possibly turkey :)
Sounds like an exciting set. Welcome!

That’s a bummer. Hopefully the delays resolve soon.
