I had 2 hens sit on the same nest with eggs once, the chicks had 2 mommies. Everyone was chill and it went well.

I also had a chicken hen hatch out 2 duck eggs. They grew fast and she didn't have to raise them long. The two always did remember the mom... one time the ducks were walking together as one duck and they saw the mom, they looked at each other to say "Look there's our mom..." then did the duck head bob up and down as a greeting.
