@New duck mommy 2021 and anyone else.....

HELP!!!!!!!!! I did a BIG BIG mistake!!!!!!!! So the last 2 eggs hatched that were pipped. I candled the one I did a safety hole in a few times and didn't think I saw movement. yesterday I would think maybe I saw the shadow in the air cell moving but then I wouldn't see it so wasn't sure if it was or not. then last night (well early am) I had checked a couple times and saw nothing so made a bigger hold so I could SEE in there and see if any movement and there was nothing. but figured I would leave it overnight JIC. checked this am and no movement, checked early afternoon and nothing from looking in the hole and also candling.. so decided to do an eggtopsy to figure out what went wrong. popped off the top and there was MOVEMENT!!! crap! quickly put coconut oil on the membrane (took a quick pic) and put the egg top back on (thankfully it popped off in one piece) and put it back in. checked a bit later to see if I killed it and no movement even when I touched it but wasn't taking a chance so put it back for an hour to see if any change, checked and it is still alive and moving. there are still a ton of veins and I don't think internally pipped. Did I give it a death sentence? do I just leave it and wait and see? do I try to internally pip near bill so it can maybe absorb veins and yolk sac? I will post the pic I have of it opened. one of how it is closed.
I would put the top back on and wrap kitchen plastic wrap over it lightly but so it isn’t getting to that membrane
Up humidity higher then normal because it’s been opened 75-80
We don’t want it to dry out abd shrink wrap
Then leave it be for a good while
Check for internal pip in 8-12 hours

Here is the photo shoot today. There are 3 yellow, 3 black and yellow and 3 blue and yellow. Lol

Thank you. I have a couple other eggs in there, chicken, should I move it to another incubator alone?? I may have to either put a cup of water in there or close vent some to get humidity that high.

Should I put coconut oil on again at all to keep it from drying out?

The top is back on and fits pretty good. I can move the egg and it doesn't fall off or move at all. Should I still do plastic wrap? Should I leave the hole open or close that too?

I moved it to the other incubator alone and bumped humidity.

I would close the hole for now
No need for air in there with baby not in
Even after he internal pips I would leave the hole covered and only make a tiny hole in the kitchen wrap
Big holes for that long will cause the membrane to dry over him

Thanks. I am kicking myself right now. I have done so many eggtopsys and never had this before. I check for movement before I do them and this one I checked many times over 2 days.... Ugh. I am hoping I didn't kill it

Don’t stress about it you are not the first and won’t be the last
Hopefully baby makes it
It has a chance
My main thing I look for is veins
If there is veins but no movement I know it’s alive
I have seen them have veins abd moving then 2 hours later
The veins are gone and the egg looks yellow like
When baby dies those veins disappear very quickly

It honestly had that yellow look to it. Oh well can't change it now....

So I candled through the egg/plastic wrap since it has been about 8 hrs. I think it internally pipped since I can see what I think is the bill moving around in the air cell. So I put a little hole in the plastic wrap. Now I know it can take 2 days so up to Tue night. Should I keep humidity up around 75-80 till then? I had to put a bowl of water and a damp paper towel to keep it up there. Should I check at all in those 48 hrs? Or do anything else

Well shoot. Editing to say it could be till Wed!!!! This is internal. So could be tomorrow till "external". THEN. 2 days..... What do I watch if anything for external since I have plastic wrap holding on the top of the egg....
