My littles are 8 days old today.
They are all super friendly and sweet.
Just moved them out to the “Big Kid” brooder on the patio.

I haven't posted in a while, well since I set the eggs really. This batch has been pretty bad. most eggs had badly saddled air cells and a few free floating and two gone bad within days. Incubator failed after a week and I lost all the ones that were developing bar one which hopefully hatches. I feel terrible because my son was super excited for frizzles and green layers. Since I'll only have one (fingers crossed) I have arranged to pick these three Silkie cuties up tomorrow which should hopefully cheer him up since we lost out last old Silkie hen earlier this year

I got so incredibly lucky!!! So far I’m 95% sure the WTB/BCM is a pullet The other two chicks are very obviously cockerels with screaming red combs/wattles

I’m having a hard time not hatching every egg they lay so I can sell the roos Boys need to calm down! Hopefully they mellow out some with chasing me and the kids, so far we’ve not lost anybody to hawks

Some pics of my August babies. I ended up with a blue frizzle and 3 splash frizzle. Of the splash frizzles I am pretty confident one is a boy. Hoping at least 1 is a girl so I can keep her.

I only kept one of my August chicks. Almost one month old Silkie mix, Violet.
Seen in the second photo with it’s Olive Egger buddy, Hazel, that I bought to keep it company.

Candled all 22 today. This seller amazes me!!! These are shipped eggs.

Out of 22 on day 3:

3 I see nothing, one has a detached air cell.

3 I couldn't tell. Dark or porous eggs so hard to see in but think there was something in at least 2, but not sure.

A seller on eBay. I can get her eBay link if you want. I can't wait to get more eggs in the spring!

I had 16/22 hatch from that batch. 18/22 started developing the other 4 we're clear. The month before I got 12 from the same seller. Hatched 10 the other 2 we're clear. Amazing for shipped eggs.
