Avian influenza found in South Carolina

Interesting. Not a single word about what is being done to show that vaccinated birds and their eggs are healthy to eat which is in the end the whole reason for raising these birds. That part of vaccination development seems to have suddenly disappeared from the industry. No wonder so many are concerned about using them.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Incident Command Team, in collaboration with partner agencies, continues to develop and implement conservation strategies to help California condors in light of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). Strategies include implementation of vaccine trials, field monitoring, and adaptation of current management practices to be increasingly nimble and flexible to improve response to future HPAI outbreaks.

The Carolina Raptor Center (CRC) recently became home to 28 Black Vultures that are part of an emergency use vaccine authorization to help protect critically endangered California Condors from Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI).

It's called in tested, and reported when official. Nothing underhanded about it, and information that needs to get out, so we can better protect our flocks. Again, ugh!
