Blind Chicken?

I have about a 12 week old bantam cochin who I'm not sure if she's just being silly or if she's can't see too well. We fed all the girls (4) mealworms out of our hands and everytime we offered one to her she would peck every area around the worm except for the worm itself. My bf has a red mark because she was pecking his hand so much thinking it was the worm?? does their eyesight improve with age?
