  1. 3 chooks : Fayoumis, Plymouth Rock, Isa Brown all about 3-4 years old.
  2. They are sitting a lot & standing on one foot.
  3. I’ve only just noticed it over the last week.
  4. Their feet look maybe lumpy. See photo.
  5. Nothing I’m aware of.
  6. Eating and drinking as usual.
  7. Haven’t noticed anything unusual about their poo.
  8. In the past we have soaked and bathed their feet with I think tea tree. My housemates did it but they’ve moved out now.
  9. We will treat ourselves.
  10. Image posted.
  11. They are in a metal coop, with straw bedding and a large run with greenery.

They seem to be molting which makes them rather tired. Add some poultry vitamins to their drinking water and provide animal protein several times a week to help them get through it.

Their feet look like scaly leg mites and could do with appropriate treatment.

Ballistol animal spray is what I use with very good results:

Would this work for their feet? Having trouble finding the brand you recommend in Brisbane

No, the mites live underneath the leg and feet scales and need to be smothered by something oily that sticks well to the treated skin and is able to reach mites and their eggs underneath the scales.

A penetrating oil like Ballistol is able to do that while not being sticky, so no dirt or feathers will get stuck using it.
After 10 days of applying it every other day (best done at night when they are roosting) the mites and their eggs will be dead.

But you could also use warm coconut oil or similar and slather it on every other day or just grab the chickens and stick their legs into a container with warm coconut oil/sunflower oil and massage it in, but this will make quite a mess.
