It might be a good idea to start adding coop space, now, 'cause you know that some disillusioned would-be chicken keeper will ask us to take on their charges. Worse, many birds will likely get dumped simply because someone knows we have chickens.
In the meantime, I guess we just need to educate, educate, educate. There may be a really positive side to the surge, though. With so many people wanting a few birds, this could be a really good time to push for changes where people aren't usually allowed to keep livestock.
