I marked one of the chipmunk chicks last season, and she grew out to be one of my best coloured hens. So, now... I grow out the Chipmunk ones...

thank you very much. I am pretty sure the majority of my chicks look like that. I am going to go do a good look over and maybe take a few pics. I love my salmons so much I have a true desire to try my best to breed my little flock to standard.

Personally I select for size and type first, toes on breeder stock just need to be well formed and properly feathered, but separation and proper angle are pretty random.

This blue bantam chick came from a pen with a fantastic toed black roo over okay breeder blue girls. If you have the genetics, a breeder bird need not have "perfect" toes.
