Call the store and ask them to check stock for plain epsom salts, then return the scented item.

my ducks eat morning glory flowers all day long, every summer and we have never had a problem.. oops!

This is what I have found so far. My ducks love kale, worms, minnows, small dried shrimp, dried mixed mealworms just need small pieces for ducklings. They do eat some spiders also. Hope this helps.

I’ve been feeding my ducks sunflower petals. They seem to be okay with them. They dabble in the wet soil of my strawflower.

I came across this old post while researching Impatiens safety and was surprised to see that Parsley is listed as toxic for ducks? I thought it was among the herbs that are safe for ducks...?

I was wondering if there is a list somewhere on BYC that has a list of flowers that are ok for your ducks to eat. If there is then please let me know.

I know there is a list of plants that are not good for dogs to eat but I don't know if those apply to ducks or not.

It is that time of year when the kids and I are going to start planting our spring flowers and bulbs. I bought some freesias and I don't know if they are harmful or not. All of my flower beds have little fences around them so it isn't like my ducks are going to be able to eat all of the plants but anything that grows over the fences is fair game. So does anyone have a list or more knowledge then me on this? I think ducks have a general idea of what is good for them and what is not, they may sample things but I think they can tell if they should eat it or not.

Hi there! Not arguing— just seeing that some of the items on your lists contradict others I have seen…. Specifically, I’ve seen that honeysuckle is toxic for them, and that day lilies are safe (not to be confused with asiatic lilies, which are not safe). But I do not know anything for certain! Just wondering. I was planning to put my dying zinnias into the run to let them go to town, but now I’m recalling I used potting soil with fertilizer, so now that seems like a bad idea.
