(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes! Picking up our new flock this weekend!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 0 - will have about 6
(3) What breeds do you have?
Buff and lavender orpingtons, faverolles, Rhode island reds, and americaunas
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I have yet to learn that!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We are new to the hobby farm life but love gardening and all things animals
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 4 children who attend forest school in the Chattanooga Tennessee area. We have a 2 year old Goldendoodle. About a year ago we bought 11 acres of land - our long term dreams: have a little self sustaining homestead. The last year we have been busy land clearing and researching all the “how-to’s”
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
We are looking for any and all advice and help we can get to further our knowledge in all the areas- I simply typed in “raising chickens” in my App Store and found this app!
