Help! Impacted egg?!

Mae West seems to be trying to lay her first egg. She gets into the nest box, scratches furiously, then sits. Then she gets up, tail high, and turns several times in the box. She keeps repeating this. Jane Marple is standing sentry (I thought she was waiting her turn, but no).

If she has an impacted egg, what do I do to help?

If this is her first egg, I would wait it out. Hens go through the motion in the nest sometimes for several days before they lay their first egg. She may just be getting the feeling. Keep us posted on how she's doing.
