We started it in March and finished in May. It houses 8 birds with plenty of perches and 3 nesting boxes. The water system uses the red nipples and in the winter will be insulated, heated and a pump installed to circulate the water. There are are also water nipples in the coop as well. The light in the coop is on a timer.

I built a six foot high fence because there are rocks inside the run the chickens can stand on and figured since some can fly over a four foot fence it be wise to make it six feet tall.

I also installed a feed tube I fill every couple days and I give it a good shake once a day to make sure the feed is evenly distributed.

For treats we give them rose petals. They love those rose petals!

The Base

A drawing I toyed with.

The side with the Chicken door.

The room addition for the perches.

Assembled on the base.

A side vent with a cover for winter.

The back of the coop.

Out of the garage and in the back yard with the roof on.

Roof removed to reinforce it.

Base cemented in the ground nice and level with the coop installed.

Plastic roofing. Repurposed stuff from a pallet company.

Inside the coop lined with the same plastic to make it easier to clean.

Eggs flying in formation! If I had a CNC router they would actually have been egg shaped.

A Base coat applied.

Recycled roofing panels painted.

My daughter and grandkids helping out.

The hole where the nesting box attaches.

The gate to Green Egg Farms

The completed Coop minus the chickens' door.

5 Gallon bucket water system and the ramp.

Here are some pictures now that the chickens are starting to lay eggs. We have eight girls and three so far are laying at almost 22 weeks.

This is so cool! Wish I was this creative.

Wow great job guys. And I love the name of your coop. Looks like you and the kids really had fun with it. Also, I really like your idea of the room extension on the back of your coop. I would probably do that when I decide to enlarge my coop. Thanks
