We started it in March and finished in May. It houses 8 birds with plenty of perches and 3 nesting boxes. The water system uses the red nipples and in the winter will be insulated, heated and a pump installed to circulate the water. There are are also water nipples in the coop as well.The light in the coop is on a timer.
I built a six foot high fence because there are rocks inside the run the chickens can stand on and figured since some can fly over a four foot fence it be wise to make it six feet tall.
I also installed a feed tube I fill every couple days and I give it a good shake once a day to make sure the feed is evenly distributed.
For treats we give them rose petals. They love those rose petals!

Here are some pictures now that the chickens are starting to lay eggs. We have eight girls and three so far are laying at almost 22 weeks.
