Safety first. You could put your eye out with rubber band.
And zip ties are just fun. Get it in position, put a foot against its a$$ and quickly pull for all you're worth. That dog will look like a bull coming outta the chute.

My cousin banded his farm puppy years ago and did it wrong(cousin was young at the time) and the poor dog had to have emergency surgery. The dog was never normal after. He would bite at the cows hooves, run in front of tractors, and chase skunks and porcupines. My uncle got so sick of dealing with the dog that he took him "down Sandy"(code for deep in the woods to the Sandy Creek) and dispatched him. My cousin still blames himself but he has gotten much better on banding animals
