My pullet is 19 weeks old today. She also laid her first egg today. 4 months 3 weeks-isn't this a bit young for a Japanese bantam to start laying eggs?

My son's youngest hen started laying about that time. She's now almost 9 months old.

Thank you for your reply. The pullet is rather large and the egg is quite small. Sure hope she lays bigger eggs as she gets older. The pullet is very poor quality so we'll be eating the eggs. She may make a good broody.

My hen will do that but my roo is a bit more scared...he likes to be held if u can catch him suckers fly good

All 5 of my son's love being held they will snuggle up and go to sleep lol.
