Long sharp nails

Whenever I play with one of my chickens I let her climb all over my arms but I get really bad scratches. Is there any way to file down the nails or cut them?

Chicken's toe nails can do some serious damage, but they need those nails to scratch, so don't take too much off. Take a pair of nail clippers and cut the very tip of the nails, then file them smooth with a nail file.
