I think that is another wives tale. I know people always want to know early for different reasons but the only way to know for sure most of the time is to breed sex links or auto sexing breeds.

I've heard of it, yes. I personally think it's a wives tale
here's an excellent article on all these types of sexing methods, including the "lay on back" method, where their effectiveness is tested among quite a few birds

Thank you ! And yes spring had hit Florida. We have 12 Marans in the incubator now. Hopefully will hatch before Easter.
