It isn't bright enough for the marans eggs or olive eggs, but it does well on all the "normal brown" eggs and lighter. I got my hubby a Mini Marauder from Olight for Christmas a few years ago and I have to use that on the very dark ones. I put tin foil over the top and make a little hole in the middle, now that I have the small egg adapter from thr Magicfly I put thay over the hole in the foil. Not super handy, but it works. Just watch the heat from the flashlight.
