So is this some kind of dating ritual ? My hens just beat the crap out of him blood from comb every where, so I pulled one hen out. Doctored his comb with blu kote purple stuff. My other hen was bleeding also, this doesn't look like fun to me but I'm not chicken

Poor boy

Makes me think of when hubby brings home flowers only to find out (too late) that I’ve had a crappy day at work.

I seldom get roses any more on account of the thorns….

lol my husband knows better than to get me roses. When I was younger any time I got roses from a significant other it was because they were breaking up with me. Roses give me PTSD, anytime he wants to get me flowers he makes sure they are NOT roses.

Things clamed down after removing the other hen. I bet he didn't know what to think. He was top roo at his house. Come here and they turn on you lol will try the other hen tomorrow

That is totally normal. If a rooster gets introduced to hens for the first time, it is very likely that the hens will beat him up. Some hens just never get used to males. My California Gray will not hesitate to beat up and trample any male who dances at her.
