Male ducks doesn't finish mating

Good evening all,

I have two male ducks and one has recently been overthroned by the other and chased around by the other make (there are plenty of females to go around).

I've noticed that recently when he is able to get hold of a female duck, he starts his business, but doesn't finish. This doesn't seem normal. He was fine until he got overthroned.

Had anyone else encountered this before and will he be able to mate properly in the future? It's there anything I should be doing too help the flock and him ?

I used to have two drakes. Some years one was on the throne, others years, the other. I noticed that the loser often did not have a drake curl or it would be smaller than the other. I wonder if amounts of male hormones are involved in that and in your situation?
