MAY 2016 "Land of the Free Because of the brave!" Hatch-a-Long Hosted by, Mike & Sally

They are beautiful! I too am wondering about their hardiness and full grown size, as we tend towards dual purpose birds. What color do they lay. I'll have to look them up. I've heard the name but never seen much about them.

We have 20 eggs in lockdown a few internal pips and at least one external tomorrow is day 20/21 at about 6 pm give or take. Humidity is running good and all the air cells but a couple seem great. Two are a little small.

I have found these wonderful chickens that almost nobody knows about and have no where to show them off! The Frisian thread is about 3 people and we already know about them, so here goes... These guys are calm, friendly, able to be penned up or free range. Forage well and are relatively quiet. They get along with all the other breeds. We shall see how they lay soon. These are called Lemon Frisian Gulls and they are about 4 months old. They came to see my husband in his workshop and hang out for a while.
those are very pretty. I hope they do well for you. I remember when you got them.

So far, the Frisian's have been more disease resistant than any of my other breeds. Since these are just approaching POL, I cannot say from personal experience about egg laying yet. I have 18- 2 month olds, which I got as day olds, and haven't lost any or even had a runt. They have not had any signs of coccidosis, which is my primary problem here. I really like them so far.

I read they are in the red category on the endangered species list.
