What are you looking at. Most seem pretty typical honestly. The more expensive ones are likely just because they're popular right now and people want them enough to pay for them

23.00 for an ameraucana. I mean don’t get me wrong I’ll buy one for that price. Why? I’m crazy! I mean I guess it’s not bad I bout from crackle for 19 and their line isn’t that great. They may have a better line of ameraucanas.

I would not pay that for an Ameracucana, I have gotten their easter eggers before. I have gotten the Ameraucan in a rare breed collection or a leanne's special. Blue eggs are pretty common these days. You should get a steel egger, although they are not as green/blue in the pic they show, I love the gray feathers, and they are only $6+.

I actually order eggs from Gypsy hen, but I have a lurking problem and chick fever and it gets me in really big trouble

Murray McMurray sells them for the same price as an Easter Egger.

Our local runnings buys from Murray McMurray. My first Ameraucana I got from them I swore she was an Ameraucana until I learned about genetics and what colors were recognized. She was definitely an Easter egger. Now my brother thinks he has a bunch of ameraucanas but they are Easter eggers.

Yes, they can be pricey. Generally, they have pretty healthy chicks. And when I’ve had an issue, they have worked with me within their policy.

Bc I can drive there (it’s a few hours though), I’ve picked up chick orders there so they wouldn’t be shipped. While there, I’ve picked up random chicks in their extra bin. Once, I picked out a chick that was normally a $50 chick, so I was happy about that!! The pricey chicks seem to be the ones you can’t find easily or wildly popular.

But, if they have what at you want, consider them or find a cheaper alternative.

We buy some chicks there, but it is not our main hatchery to use.
