When we started raising chickens for the first time last year... My wife's Mother was excited as in Hungary/Germany in the 30s/40s of course they had chickens. She said she knew what loved the most.... moldy cheese. O YES, they love moldy cheese over regular cheese and it is good for them. I know many of you say never anything with mold. But if you were in Hungary/Germany in those times you would never give your chickens anything you would eat. So when they fed them the moldy cheese of course they ate it up and her recollection. So she always brings our chickens her moldy cheese.

That story made me smile! I absolutely understand that edible food were way too good to give to the flock and chickens being chickens, will eat just about anything offered.

This is an old thread, but I found it now when googling if I could feed my flock some organic cheddar cheese that has gone moldy. So happy it's ok to feed them!
